Starting a new job.

I started my new job this week, working full time before I start university to get some experience, knowledge and understanding of how the company works and operates, plus I get used to doing the main aspect of my job. I have started working in the warehouse at an online sports company, they do have a small shop on site though.

I have started off working in the warehouse, processing internet and telephone orders. By processing I mean recieving the orders and sending them out to the customer. You don’t quite realise how important it is to read the orders through thoroughly. It’s decent, though, I quite like what I am doing, I know it’s not exactly spectacular as all I am doing is picking items up and sending them off, but I prefer that to other things. At least with that I am kept busy and it doesn’t drag. Now watch… It’ll start dragging!

Once I start university I am going to cut my hours down, though to at least 10 hours per week, that will provide me with a little bit of income and will be useful for my petrol money too! Plus a little extra cash is certainly useful and much welcomed!

It’s fair to say, though, that I am particularly tired after the four days that I have worked. It’s probably down to the fact that I have had no real experience of working so much. At least it provides me with some experience of working full time and will help me in the future when I end up working full time.

The job is made slightly easier, though, seeing as the people there are very friendly – there’s nothing worse that going to work somewhere where the people aren’t very nice.

All in all though it’s fair to say that so far I am quite pleased with it, it’s a decent job for a student, I am integrating well whilst at the same time I am earning a little bit of cash – can’t go too wrong really!
